The success and quality of TMRA 2010 depends on the contributions from the community, for the conference as well for the tutorials day. We invite original, high quality submissions with substantial contributions to the objectives of TMRA 2010, published in the call for contributions. The submission deadline for all contributions is 15 June 2010 EXTENDED to 30 June 2010.
Similar to 2009, this year the TMRA proceedings will appear in the LIV series, published by the University of Leipzig. The goal of this decision is an open and free access to all TMRA related publications. The conference language is English. Submissions of four categories are invited for the TMRA 2010 conference (see for submission details below):
Do I have to adhere to a layout template? Yes. Especially for the full and short papers we ask you to strictly adhere to the LNCS template, which are available for LaTeX and Word here. To assure a high printing quality we ask you to prefer the LaTeX option.
Should I decide about the category of my submission? Yes. When submitting your contribution, you should indicate the intended category (full paper, short paper, etc.). Please be aware that your submission might be accepted for another category (i.e. a short paper will be accepted as poster). In this case, the rules for the accepted category apply for your contribution.
When submitting your paper, please indicate in the submission form the intended category for your contribution. During the submission workflow you will be asked about your decision.
Should I anonymise my contribution? No. Like in the lase years, the review process of TMRA 2010 implements a conflict resolution schema. Authors and Reviewers has to disclose their conflicts with certain persons, so according author/reviewer pairs will be avoided. It’s a simple decision schema. Please do not anonymise your contribution.
Do I get any compensation for presenting at TMRA 2010? No. Like at all academic conferences, each presenter at TMRA 2010 has equally to register to the conference, paying the regular conference fees. Applying this modus operandi allows to have low rates for all participants. If your contribution for the conference will be accepted, at least one author has to register for TMRA 2010.
Full papers should describe original research results that have not been accepted or submitted for publication elsewhere. Full papers can only be submitted to the scientific track. The submissions will be carefully evaluated for scientific or technical contribution, originality, appropriateness, and significance by three reviewers. Full papers should not exceed 12 pages (min. 8 pages) in the LNCS format. The submission of extended abstracts is not allowed, only complete full papers will be reviewed.
Short Papers describe work to present at the industrial or scientific tracks. The submissions will be carefully evaluated for originality, appropriateness, and significance by three reviewers. If accepted, the short paper will be published in the proceedings. Short papers should not exceed 6 pages (min. 4 pages) in the LNCS format. The submission of extended abstracts is not allowed, only complete shortpapers will be reviewed.
Presentation Proposals describe work to be presented in an industrial or scientific track. The submissions will be evaluated for originality, appropriateness, and significance by the program committee. Presentation proposals should not exceed 2 pages. Presentations will not be published in the proceedings.
Posters should describe ongoing work, relevant to the scientific or industrial track. The submissions will be evaluated for originality, appropriateness, and significance by three reviewers. Posters will not be published in the proceedings, but they will be described in a “Report from the Poster Session” published in the proceedings.
All submissions must be in English. Submissions should be made electronically in PDF and submitted via the conference management . At least one author for accepted paper should register for the workshop and present the contribution.
You will find at the LNCS page layout templates for LATEX and all current word processors here. At least for full and short papers, it is necessary to strictly adhere to these templates.
Tutorials@TMRA 2010 will take place on Wednesday, 29 September 2010 prior to the regular TMRA 2010 program. The purpose of the tutorial program is to provide participants with lectures and instructions, on either well established or new cutting-edge topics, relevant to the topic mapping field. Tutorials@TMRA is the opportunity to teach your advanced technology to an interested audience. If you are interested in teaching your cutting edge technology to an interested audience, please submit your tutorial proposal.
What should my tutorial proposal include? Tutorials should preferably be designed as half-day (three hour) sessions, including a 15 minute break. Providing take-home materials for attendees is encouraged, but not obligatory. Three parallel slots are foreseen, so the maximum number of tutorials is limited to six. Tutorial proposals should be one to three pages in manuscript format, including the following information:
- Author name(s)
- Contact information
- Title and length of presentation
- Abstract (brief description of the tutorial)
- Synopsis (description of tutorial goals and outline)
- Brief biography of the presenter
- Previous venues at which this tutorial has been presented
- Intended audience / Prerequisite skills for participants
- Technology requirements for presentation
Do I get any royalties for my tutorial? Sorry, no royalties can be paid for the presenter. Compensation for teaching a tutorial includes free registration for the full conference and a free copy of the conference proceedings.
